Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns marked their first Halloween as newlyweds with elaborate “Game of Thrones” costumes that rendered them nearly unrecognizable on the streets of New York City.
The couple, who wed in August in Malibu, California, stepped out Saturday night in SoHo with Woods, 29, transformed into a White Walker and Towns, 30, appearing as the Night King. Both wore intricate ghoulish makeup for the occasion, with Woods adding a blonde wig to her icy undead look while Towns carried a machete prop and wore all black.
Their costume commitment extended to dinner at what appeared to be Sartiano’s on Prince Street, where the pair dined in full character. The restaurant outing demonstrated the lengths to which the model and the New York Knicks star took their shared fandom of the HBO fantasy series.
That enthusiasm has been public before. In April, “Game of Thrones” star Kit Harington attended Game 1 of the Knicks playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks at Madison Square Garden, where his interaction with Towns gained widespread attention. Towns joked to Harington, “I would bend the knee, but my knee hurts right now,” referencing Jon Snow’s memorable refusal to bend the knee to Daenerys Targaryen.
Towns also told the British actor that he was rewatching the series with Woods, who stood nearby on the court during the exchange, before asking to take a picture with him.
The couple’s August wedding drew a celebrity-heavy guest list including Kylie Jenner and boyfriend Timothée Chalamet, Justin Bieber and wife Hailey Bieber, Jada Pinkett Smith, Teyana Taylor, Gayle King, Michael B. Jordan, and Ben Stiller with wife Christine Taylor.
Woods has maintained a visible presence at Towns’ professional events since their marriage. Earlier this month, she attended the Knicks’ season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, where she debuted a new Trophy Gold version of her Woods by Jordyn Tux Clutch Mini bag. The accessory has become known as her lucky orange game-winning bag from previous appearances.
The Knicks captured the NBA championship in June, adding to the celebratory year for Towns both professionally and personally.
The couple’s shared “Game of Thrones” devotion has now spanned from court-side banter with the show’s stars to full theatrical transformation for their inaugural married Halloween, with their Saturday night appearance in Manhattan drawing attention for its meticulous detail and commitment to the source material.
Towns and the Knicks are scheduled to face the Boston Celtics in their next regular-season matchup.
