Aaron Carter’s twin sister, Angel Carter Conrad, has discussed their strained final conversation just days before Aaron’s tragic death.
Angel shared how the interaction left her feeling “angry” before Aaron was found deceased in 2022. He was 34 years old and discovered by his housekeeper in the bathtub.
The cause of Aaron’s death was determined to be drowning, influenced by the intake of alprazolam (a type of Xanax) and inhalation of difluoroethane. Unfortunately, Aaron is not the only family member to have died young.
Their sister, Leslie Carter, passed away from an overdose at 25 in 2012, and in 2023, Bobbie Jean Carter died at 41 from “intoxication due to the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine.”
Angel has spoken about her siblings’ deaths and the potential factors contributing to their untimely passings. She also recounted her final conversation with Aaron.
In an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, Angel candidly discussed the reasons she believes her siblings died prematurely. Discussing her late siblings, Angel stated: “There’s certainly a generational dysfunction issue here that comes along with it, but as far as growing up, there was a time where we were a really close family. There was a lot of love. But there was a lot of chaos going on at the same time.”
She added, “Just fighting. My parents were just fighting all the time. Just dysfunction in the home. No boundaries. No stability. No one to talk to. It just felt like, if I had an issue going on, I really couldn’t have my parents to lean on to.”
Angel also pointed out that fame played a role in the family’s dysfunction.
She mentioned she last saw Aaron in person three years prior to his death during a court appearance.
In a conversation with People, Angel explained: “It makes me sad to know that the last time I saw him was in 2019 in a courtroom. It was the last time I ever saw Aaron.”
In 2019, Angel and their brother Nick disclosed on X that they had taken out restraining orders against Aaron due to his “increasingly alarming behavior and his recent confession that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child.”
