Mallory Edens fired back at her ex-boyfriend Aaron Rodgers after he claimed he was “emotionally unavailable” during all his relationships after 2017.
Edens, 29, took to Instagram on September 21 to address the NFL quarterback’s recent podcast remarks about his romantic history. The model and Milwaukee Bucks heiress dated Rodgers, 42, in 2023 during the period he now describes as years spent pining for his current wife.
“My ex is currently on a press tour talking about how he never loved anyone he dated after 2017,” Edens wrote on Instagram.
“Unfortunately for him, I am also on a press tour, for a movie inspired by how down bad I was. Really exciting time for competing narratives!!”
Rodgers made the comments that sparked Edens’ response during an appearance on the Not Just Football podcast. He told listeners he met his now-wife Brittani in 2017 but she moved away to Europe, leaving him emotionally closed off during the years they were apart.
“At the time, she was leaving the states and going back to Europe,” Rodgers said of Brittani. “My biggest regret is not begging her to stay or just like proposing right there.”
He continued: “I was emotionally unavailable, I think, for those seven or eight years because I met the person that had changed my life.”
Rodgers added that he poured his energy into football during that separation, saying, “And after that, I just poured everything I had into football, and I think I got a lot out of that for sure, but I knew I was supposed to be with this one person, but we were separated by an ocean for a lot of it.”
The Green Bay Packers legend and Brittani reportedly rekindled their romance and married last year. During their years apart, Rodgers was briefly engaged to actress Shailene Woodley before their 2022 split. He also dated Edens in 2023.
Woodley, 33, has not publicly responded to Rodgers’ podcast claims. The Big Little Lies star attended a pre-Emmys fundraiser in Los Angeles in recent days and laughed off the outlet reporter’s question about her ex’s remarks before walking into the event.
Rodgers’ podcast appearance also included bombshell allegations about Woodley specifically, with the quarterback claiming she allegedly wanted to sleep with another man before they married. The former couple never made it down the aisle.
Edens did not name Rodgers directly in her Instagram post, but the timeline and details left little ambiguity about whom she was referencing. Her mention of a “press tour” aligns with Rodgers’ multiple recent podcast appearances discussing his personal life.
The competing public narratives Edens highlighted come as she promotes her own projects, turning Rodgers’ emotional unavailability claim into promotional material for her film work. Her sharp-tongued response drew quick attention from followers who connected the dots to the four-time NFL MVP.
Rodgers has not publicly responded to Edens’ Instagram post.
