Adam Sandler’s Simple Marriage Advice to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Has Everyone Talking

Fresh details continue to emerge from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, and one of the most talked-about moments involves Adam Sandler’s unexpected role as officiant.

Swift’s representative confirmed that the couple married on Friday, July 3, 2026, in New York City, with the celebration centered at Madison Square Garden. Sandler, a longtime friend of the pair, was the one who led the ceremony and reportedly brought his trademark mix of humor and sincerity to the occasion.

Sandler has long had a connection to Swift, including through his daughters Sunny and Sadie, who are reportedly fans of the singer. He also has a growing connection to Kelce after the NFL star appeared briefly in Happy Gilmore 2.

Though many would have expected Sandler to lean heavily into comedy, those who attended said he struck a warm balance between laughter and emotion while officiating the ceremony. Sandler, who has been married to Jackie Sandler for 20 years, appeared to draw from his own experience when speaking to the couple.

Speaking to CNN, Reid shared the part of the wedding that stood out most to him.

“Adam Sandler doing a phenomenal job with the vows,” the 68-year-old coach told the outlet. “Just how he went about bringing a little bit of humor, but also some sensitivity.”

Reid, who has been married for 45 years, was also asked what guidance he would offer the newlyweds. Instead, he pointed back to Sandler’s own words.

The coach revealed to reporters that the Hustle star told the couple: “‘Kiss every chance you have, every day. Whether you’re going to bed, or going to work, whenever. Go ahead and kiss her.'”

“It really was touching,” he said.

Reid also spoke further about Sandler’s part in the ceremony during a press conference covered by Deseret, where he again praised the actor’s performance.

“He’s crazy, but he did a great job in getting them married.”

Reid wasn’t the only attendee to comment after the event.

Donna Kelce appeared in public less than a day later at Macy’s 50th Fourth of July Celebration in New York City, where she was inevitably asked about the wedding.

She didn’t reveal much, but she did offer a short reaction: “I really can’t say a heck of a lot, except it was magical man, magical!”

There were also new details shared on Good Morning America, where hosts said Stevie Nicks performed during the ceremony and that Madison Square Garden had been transformed into a garden-like setting for the celebration.

As more snippets continue to surface, fans are still waiting to learn what else happened on the day.

In the meantime, reports have also offered clues about what guests may have eaten.

According to Page Six, large quantities of food and ingredients were seen being delivered to Madison Square Garden ahead of the celebration, offering a possible preview of the menu.

Among the items reportedly spotted were boxes of lobster meat, suggesting an upscale dining spread.

There also appeared to be several chicken options prepared for the event, with boxes allegedly marked for breasts, legs, boneless portions and blackened chicken.

Other reported deliveries included French fries, thick-cut onion rings, red and orange peppers, romaine lettuce, eggs, whole milk and heavy whipping cream.

A Krispy Kreme van was also reportedly seen arriving at MSG, although it remains unclear whether that was specifically for the wedding, given there is also a nearby store in the area.

TMZ cited a source with what it described as ‘direct knowledge’, claiming Swift ‘personally curated food stations’ for the celebration, with ‘specialty bites’ said to come from several of her favorite spots.
