Agency reacts to singer Park Bom’s alleged ‘$4,500,000,000,000,000’ lawsuit

South Korean singer Park Bom has caused a stir after reportedly attempting to file a lawsuit against the CEO of her former band’s management company.

The singer’s talent agency has now responded to her claims.

Bom, who was once part of the recently-reunited K-pop group 2NE1, recently shared details on social media about an alleged lawsuit against Yang Hyun-suk, the founder of YG Entertainment.

YG Entertainment is a prominent music management company that manages renowned K-pop groups like BlackPink and 2NE1.

Bom uploaded an image of a document on Instagram which seemed to identify her as the plaintiff and Hyun-suk as the defendant.

The document indicated that she was suing Hyun-suk for a staggering 64,272,000,000,000,000 won.

To provide some perspective, South Korea’s GDP stands at approximately 2.61 quadrillion won, which is equivalent to $1.87 trillion.

However, the document referred to the amount as ‘100,200,300,400,600,700,100,000,34 ‘642,72e trillion won’ (approximately $4.5 quadrillion).

Bom also accused Hyun-suk of ‘fraud and embezzlement,’ alleging in the document that she was owed ‘profits that should have been rightfully paid… for a long period of time’.

The post has since been removed, and Bom’s agency, D-Nation, released a statement regarding the matter.

In an Instagram post, D-Nation stated: “The settlement related to Park Bom’s 2NE1 activities has already been completed, and the complaint uploaded on social media has not been received. Park Bom has suspended all activities and is currently focusing on treatment and recovery.

“Our company will do its best to help the artist regain her health.”

UNILAD has reached out to YG Entertainment for comment.

Last year marked the reunion of 2NE1 under YG Entertainment in honor of their 15th anniversary.

The group, known for their eclectic mix of hip-hop, reggae, and electronic music, had previously disbanded seven years prior, in 2017.

All four original members of the band – Lee Chae-rin, Sandara Park, Gong Min-ji, and Bom – reunited for the Welcome Back Tour, which took place from October 2024 to April 2025.

In August, D-Nation announced that Bom would not be part of any future 2NE1 performances based on advice from ‘medical staff’ who recommended ‘sufficient rest and stability’ for her.

2NE1 was formed by YG Entertainment in 2009, first appearing on BigBang’s ‘Lollipop’ before debuting in May with their hit ‘Fire’.

By the end of 2014, 2NE1 had achieved nine number one hits on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart, establishing them as the girl group with the most chart-topping songs at that time.

Following Minzy’s departure, the group released their final single ‘Goodbye’ in 2017 and subsequently disbanded.

In 2022, they made a surprise appearance at Coachella, leading to their eventual reunion last year.
