Amanda Seyfried shares the one beauty treatment she won’t abandon despite vowing to avoid cosmetic surgery

Amanda Seyfried has candidly discussed the one cosmetic procedure she finds indispensable.

Although she has no immediate intentions to undergo any surgical cosmetic enhancements, Seyfried has spoken about a specific procedure she values highly.

In an interview with Who What Wear, Seyfried, who is set to appear in The Housemaid alongside Sydney Sweeney, shared her perspective on cosmetic work.

Previously, the actress mentioned that she refrained from using Botox and makeup while portraying religious preacher Ann Lee, the founder of The Shakers, in the film The Testament of Ann Lee.

This historical musical debuted at the Toronto Film Festival on September 9.

Despite describing her decision to forgo makeup and Botox as ‘worth it’, Seyfried pointed out one procedure she plans to continue.

She remarked: “I have a really good dermatologist who tells me that she’s never gonna do anything but put Botox in the same place for the rest of my life.”

While on set, Seyfried noted that she stopped undergoing the procedure entirely.

“I couldn’t get Botox for a year,” she explained. “That was a big assignment… When I first got [Botox], I was, like, ‘This is amazing,’ because I frown a lot.

“But then it all came back in a way that was absolutely necessary for all the work I was doing.”

Though she found it challenging to abstain at times, she believed it was beneficial for her role.

“I’m an actor and that’s my job and that’s what I love to do,” she expressed.

“I don’t necessarily need all that in my life. I just like it. The things that I like, I can sacrifice a little. Of course I can.”

Seyfried further stated: “We did make sacrifices, and it was worth it. Every day was fun. We didn’t just survive, we thrived.”

She has previously shared insights into her skincare regimen, noting her struggles with eczema.

In a Vogue Beauty Secrets video released on March 18, she detailed her ‘unfiltered eczema routine’.

The video, which was shared on TikTok and YouTube, drew praise as she appeared without any facial makeup.

Discussing her skincare in the video, she stated: “You might be thinking: ‘What’s that on her face?’

“That’s my eczema, and I, too, suffer from perioral dermatitis.”
