Amber Heard Shares Joyful News of Welcoming Twins in Heartfelt Announcement

Amber Heard has shared her journey of motherhood, emphasizing her choice to become a mother on her own terms. Recently, Heard announced the birth of her twins, adding to her family.

On May 11, Heard used social media to share the joyful news. At 39, the Aquaman actress is already the mother to Oonagh Paige, who was born on April 8, 2021. Heard has previously spoken about her decision to have a child and the importance of doing it independently.

On Instagram, she posted a photo of her twins’ feet, writing: “Mother’s Day 2025 will be one I’ll never forget. This year I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I’ve strived to build for years.”

She continued: “Today I officially share the news that I welcomed twins into the Heard gang.” She revealed their names: “My daughter Agnes and my son Ocean are keeping my hands (and my heart) full. When I had my first baby girl Oonagh four years ago, my world changed forever. I thought I couldn’t possibly burst with more joy. Well, now I am bursting times three!!!”

Heard expressed the profound experience of becoming a mother: “Becoming a mother by myself and on my own terms despite my own fertility challenges has been the most humbling experience of my life. I am eternally grateful that I was able to choose this responsibly and thoughtfully.”

She concluded with a message to other mothers: “To all the moms, wherever you are today and however you got here, my dream family and I are celebrating with you. Love always, A x.”

Heard welcomed her first child, Oonagh Paige, via surrogacy four years ago.

During her initial announcement in 2021, she explained her decision to have a child on her own terms and the significance of this choice for women.

She stated: “I wanted to do it on my own terms. I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way. I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib. A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this.”

Heard has mostly kept her family life out of the limelight, but she occasionally shares moments on social media.

One picture shows her with Oonagh, sharing a lighthearted moment with the caption: “I’m just the mom and the dad. She’s the boss.” Another post highlights her balancing work and motherhood, and yet another celebrates Oonagh’s first birthday: “My little O is a year old today. I still can’t believe you’re here. The greatest year.”

During her legal trial with ex-partner Johnny Depp, Heard mentioned Oonagh.

In her testimony on May 17, 2022, she declared: “I want to move on with my life. I have a baby. I have to move on. I want to move on, and I want Johnny to move on too.”

After the trial, Heard expressed her anticipation of returning to motherhood without legal distractions.

She told the Today show she looked forward to being a mom “full time” again, free from legal concerns.

In response to a question about explaining the trial to her daughter in the future, Heard acknowledged her own missteps but stood by her actions during the trial: “I think no matter what, it will mean something. I did the right thing. I did everything I could to stand up for myself and the truth.”
