American Pie star Shannon Elizabeth reveals how she feels about nudity and why she’s joining OnlyFans

Shannon Elizabeth is the latest recognizable name to sign up for the adult subscription platform OnlyFans, more than 25 years after her nude scene in ‘American Pie’ helped cement her as a major early-2000s sex symbol.

While the actor has famously appeared nude on screen before — her foreign exchange student character undresses in the 1999 coming-of-age hit — she says this time the terms are different, because she’s the one calling the shots.

After post-American Pie roles in American Pie 2, Scary Movie and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, along with years in the public eye as a model and animal rights activist, the 52-year-old has now launched an OnlyFans page this week.

But there’s a complication she’s been clear about from the start: despite becoming widely known for a nude scene in a raunchy comedy, she says she’s never actually been comfortable with being naked.

On her profile, Elizabeth describes herself as ‘actor, storyteller, a little mischievous’ and tells subscribers that ‘here you’ll find the side of me that doesn’t make it into movies—more playful, spontaneous, and completely unscripted.’

In an interview with People about joining the platform, she stressed that the American Pie scene was more about the job than her personal comfort level.

“For me, it was a role, it was playing a character,” the actress told the outlet. “But even in my real life, I’m just not the girl who likes to be naked, ever.”

“Even at home I’m always covered up,” she explained. “Like I have friends that sleep in the nude and they don’t mind walking around that way. That was never me, but because that was kind of my coming out, everyone assumed I was that girl.”

With OnlyFans, she says she has the final say over what she shares — a contrast to the way her career has worked in the past. She also said: “I’ve spent my entire career working in Hollywood, where other people controlled … the outcome of my career.

“This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen and being closer to my fans,”

What subscribers can expect on her page hasn’t been fully detailed yet. However, the launch comes amid news about her personal life, with People reporting that she had quietly filed for divorce shortly before her account went live.

A source told the publication on Thursday that the breakup had occurred ‘in the last few days’ after five years of marriage. The insider also claimed: “Now that she is single, she wants to have a bit more freedom and be wild.”

Elizabeth later addressed the timeline herself, offering a clarification in a statement to US Weekly: “I’ve been separated since September of last year, and this has been a thoughtful, ongoing process — not something that happened in the past few days.”

She added that, regarding the divorce, ‘the meaningful pieces are already behind me, and only the formalities remain,’ and said she was ‘genuinely excited’ to begin a new phase.

“I feel stronger, clearer, and happier than I have in a very long time,” she shared.
