Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are now married.
The former “GMA3” co-anchors, Robach, 53, and Holmes, 49, exchanged vows in a private ceremony on Sept. 19 in Washington County, Arkansas, according to a registered marriage license on Tuesday. The wedding took place just one day after the couple applied for their license on Sept. 18, and the county clerk’s office officially recorded the marriage this week. Details about the nuptials were kept tightly under wraps, with the outlet confirming that even some of their closest confidantes were unaware the ceremony had happened.

The couple enters the marriage as a blended family, each bringing two children from previous relationships. Their road to the altar has been lengthy and public, marked by professional upheaval and intense media scrutiny that began when their workplace romance was exposed in November 2022. At that time, Robach was still married to actor Andrew Shue and Holmes to attorney Marilee Fiebig. Both previous couples have since divorced, and in a twist that drew additional attention, Shue and Fiebig began their own romance and moved in together.
Following the bombshell revelation of their affair, ABC ousted both journalists from “GMA3” in January 2023. A network spokesperson said at the time that it was “best for everyone” that they “move on” after the scandal. Rather than retreat from public life, Robach and Holmes continued their relationship and launched their self-titled “Amy & TJ” podcast in December 2023, using the platform to speak directly to their audience about their lives.

Robach and Holmes announced their engagement in October 2025 on their podcast, revealing they had been engaged for about a month before going public. “We are sharing with all of you that we are engaged and we’ve been engaged for just about a month now,” Robach said at the time.
Holmes added that they wanted their listeners to hear the news first: “We wanted to let you all know before anybody else was able to; we’ve learned that lesson, I guess, in the past about our relationship.”
He also noted that Robach had been wearing her engagement ring openly without anyone noticing. “I was in three massive football stadiums three weekends in a row, wearing my engagement ring very proudly, very excitedly, and kept waiting for somebody to point it out or ask me, ‘Hey, what’s that?’ And it never happened,” Robach shared, speculating that perhaps people were being “polite” and “don’t want to pry.”

Holmes insisted they had not been hiding the engagement, telling listeners, “We haven’t been keeping it a secret, but nobody asked!”

The couple was subsequently spotted in New York City with Robach displaying a large, sparkling gold jewel on her left hand. Their podcast became the primary venue for discussing their relationship plans, and by May 2025, Holmes was already referring to Robach as his “spouse” during an episode of their “I Do, Part 2” podcast.
“If you got love right the first time around, this ain’t the show for you. I’m T.J. Holmes, alongside my friend, my partner, my podcast co-host, Amy Robach,” he said, before deciding the introduction felt “impersonal.” He tried again: “With my person, my partner, my spouse.”

Earlier this year, the couple hinted at wedding plans during an appearance on “Bill and Giuliana: The Podcast.” Asked by Giuliana Rancic whether they had set a date, Holmes confirmed, “We do.” Robach appeared surprised by his openness, responding, “Are you OK with that date? I had a date that I really wanted. You’re just telling me now on the podcast that you’re OK with that date?”

Holmes explained that the conversation had made him more comfortable discussing their plans. “There is a way we want to get married that we haven’t revealed necessarily, but it would be very special to us,” he said. “We can’t say what that is. That’s a big thing for us.”

The Arkansas ceremony appears to have fulfilled that vision of something special and private, with the couple successfully avoiding public attention until the marriage license surfaced. Their ability to keep the wedding secret stands in marked contrast to the intense publicity that surrounded the revelation of their romance nearly four years ago, when photographs of the two together triggered a cascade of professional and personal consequences.

Robach and Holmes have built their post-ABC lives around their podcast and their relationship, frequently discussing both on air. Their trajectory from fired co-hosts to married couple represents one of the more unusual second acts in recent television news history, with the pair transforming personal scandal into a brand centered on their partnership.
