“25 years… When we first got married, we couldn’t wait to say we made it to 10 years! Now look at how far we’ve come!” the caption for the video post reads.

“As Frankie says, ‘Joy and pain are like sunshine and rain…’ Whew! He sure was right! We’ve had ups, we’ve had downs; we gained two amazing children; but lost cherished family members and friends…” the caption continues. “We’ve had successes, we’ve had failures; we’ve had spectacular wins, we’ve had devastating losses… But through it all there’s been one, beautiful constant: We’ve always had each other!”

The comment concludes on a lovely note, expressing their gratitude: “Thank you God for each and everyone one of these 25 years! We can’t wait to do 25 more! 10/12/1997?❤️.”

The touching film shows the couple’s milestone anniversary party, which took place on October 1. Aisha Hinds, Bassett’s 9-1-1 co-star and close friend, was among those who attended the occasion. Before the twins deliver a speech to their parents, Bassett and Vance view a nice video of their children, Bronwyn Vance and Slater Vance.

Bassett and Vance then approach the stage to express their gratitude to everyone gathered to honor them before Vance calls for their band to begin the dance.

Bassett and Vance have recently had a lot to celebrate! Vance is the star of AMC’s riveting new drama series 61st Street, which debuted earlier this year. The Emmy-winning actor plays Franklin Roberts in the hard-hitting drama, which follows a talented Chicago high school athlete who becomes entangled in the criminal justice system after being wrongly arrested as a gang member by the police. The series delves deep inside the iconic Chicago criminal justice system as police and prosecutors investigating a deadly narcotics bust seek vengeance for the murder of an officer, which threatens to break the department’s code of silence.

Vance defined his character as “a public defender [for] 30 years set to retire in two weeks”.   He added that his character’s wife Martha, played by Oscar contender Aunjanue Ellis, wishes her husband would retire so he could spend more time with their children. But, before he can retire, he finds himself in the middle of the tempest, defending his new client, Moses Johnson (Tosin Cole).

“As an honest man, you get to see how broken the system is for beige, brown and Black [folks],” Vance stated. “It just doesn’t work.”

Bassett, on the other hand, will reprise her legendary role as Queen Ramonda in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
