Apple, Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter, addresses ‘bully’ allegations

Apple Martin, daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, has addressed rumors regarding her alleged expulsion from school due to bullying incidents.

These rumors began circulating in 2024 after Apple’s attendance at the Le Bal des Debutantes in Paris, just before Christmas, where she reportedly ‘photobombed’ a fellow model’s photo shoot.

Le Bal des Debutantes is an event for young women aged 16-20 who aspire to enter the modeling industry.

During the event, Apple was seen rolling her eyes, linking arms with Count Leo Henckel von Donnersmarck, an occurrence that fueled speculation.

Despite the time that has passed, the rumors persisted. Apple, now 21, addressed the issue on Instagram, over a year after the incident went viral, refuting the bullying claims.

In her Instagram Story, Apple stated: “Hi! I didn’t wanna respond but this narrative is completely false and has gotten so out of hand.”

She clarified that she has never been expelled from any educational institution and rejected the ‘bullying’ allegations.

Apple continued, “I completely understand ppl not liking me and that is okay! The internet is a place where ppl can share their opinions,” emphasizing her stance.

“But this rumor is completely untrue, I am not that type of person and anyone who is close to me knows that.”

Following the viral spread of the clip, a source close to Gwyneth Paltrow informed the Mail that Apple is not a ‘mean girl’ but rather a ‘girls girl’.

“Apple’s more playful and fun and she’s really a total girls’ girl. She would never mean to take the spotlight from anyone, that was not her intention,” the source stated to the outlet.

“To characterize her as a mean girl is very untrue.”

Aliénor Loppin de Montmort, the debutante featured in the viral clip, defended Apple against the criticism she faced online.

In a 2024 interview with PEOPLE, she expressed: “[Apple’s] genuinely the nicest girl ever! She really doesn’t deserve an ounce of what she’s getting.

“She was the nicest girl ever towards not only me but all the debs!”

Apple Martin is currently pursuing a degree in law, history, and society at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, with aspirations to become an actress, following in her mother’s footsteps, after her graduation this summer.

She recently told Vogue: “I love dancing and I love acting. My dream is to act.”
