Army issues statement after military helicopter filmed hovering near Kid Rock’s house

The US Army has opened an investigation after footage appeared to show a military helicopter flying over Kid Rock’s home in Tennessee on Saturday (March 28).

The 55-year-old shared a video to Instagram showing the aircraft hovering near his sprawling property.

In the clip, Kid Rock is seen saluting as the helicopter passes low over the estate, at one point appearing to come very close to his infinity pool before continuing on.

His caption made it clear he was unhappy about the flyover.

“This is a level of respect that s*** for brains Governor of California will never know. God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”

Maj. Jonathan Bless, a public affairs officer for the 101st Airborne Division, confirmed to Politico that an investigation is underway and said there was no official request for the helicopter to fly to Kid Rock’s home.

Army spokesperson Maj. Montrell Russell said the review will examine what happened to ensure rules were followed, including any airspace requirements.

“The Army is aware of a video circulating online that appears to show AH‑64 Apache helicopters operating in the vicinity of a private residence in the Nashville area,” the spokesperson added in a statement to Politico.

“Army aviators must adhere to strict safety standards, professionalism, and established flight regulations.”

Russell also said the Army would take further steps if the inquiry determines procedures weren’t followed.

The news comes after Kid Rock publicly responded to an Oscars joke referencing his involvement in the Turning Point USA halftime show.

During the ceremony, host Conan O’Brien made a quip about an alternative show.

“Tonight could get political, and if that makes you uncomfortable, there’s an alternate Oscars being hosted by Kid Rock. It’s at the Dave & Buster’s down the street.”

Kid Rock then replied on X, saying he didn’t think the gag landed.

“I love a good joke, even when I am the butt of it, unfortunately this was not a very good one,” he wrote on X.

He also used the moment to plug his upcoming live dates and encourage fans to buy tickets.

“Either way, if you want to see a REAL good show this spring / summer that celebrates America and 250 years of Freedom – make sure you buy your tickets from (ugh) Ticketmaster for my Freedom 250 tour – The Road To Nashville. There is a reason for this, TRUST ME!”
