The US Army sergeant who had the privilege of dancing with Melania Trump at Donald Trump’s inaugural Commander-in-Chief Ball has revealed what she whispered to him during their dance.
Sergeant Henry Waller was spotted waltzing with Melania, while Donald Trump danced with Sergeant Tatiana Saldana from the United States Space Force on Monday, January 20th.
This event signified the start of Trump’s new term in office, and the stage was shared by the US President and First Lady with the vice-presidential couple, JD and Usha Vance. They were also seen dancing with military members from the Marine Corps and Navy.
Clips that circulated on social media and were broadcasted globally captured Waller and Melania smiling at each other. At one point, Melania was seen whispering into Waller’s ear.
The duo gracefully moved across the floor at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. In an interview with Inside Edition, Waller discussed the experience and addressed the curiosity about their conversation.
“I walked out on stage. I was trying to contain my composure, but we were told that it’s not like ceremonial composure. We can smile if you want to,” he mentioned.
Waller added, “I was just overwhelmed with joy being out on the stage where all these people are cheering for me.”
When asked if Melania spoke to him, Waller shared, “I asked her how her night was going. She said it was going good. She asked me how mine was. I said, ‘It was fantastic’.”
He also commented on Melania’s dancing abilities: “Oh, yeah, she’s a really good dancer.”
Waller confessed that his only dance practice was “back home with [his] wife”.
Meanwhile, the inauguration was filled with viral moments, and one of them may have escaped notice.
During a moment when First Lady Melania and President Trump attempted a kiss, it seemed to fall short of reaching her cheek.
An expert in body language noted that while it appeared Trump was aiming for a lip-to-lip kiss, Melania turned her face away, resulting in a cheek kiss.
This awkward exchange resulted in an ‘air kiss,’ which viewers speculated might have been influenced by Melania’s exceptionally large hat.
The First Lady’s choice of headwear was considered ‘strange’ by some, as it almost completely obscured her face.
Additionally, John Fetterman, the Senator of Pennsylvania, made an appearance in his signature outfit consisting of grey shorts, sneakers, and a black hoodie.
In a recent interview with ABC News, the Democrat stated that wishing for Trump’s failure is like ‘rooting against the nation’.
