As he crossed the finish line of the 2022 New York City Marathon, Ashton Kutcher breathed a sigh of relief.
The 44-year-old actor ran with 50 thousand other competitors in the challenging marathon through the streets of New York.
The Stoner Cats star was dressed in a black Nike T-shirt and shorts with the Team Thorn emblem and bright pink running shoes for the event.
The goal of the 26-point-two-mile walk was to generate funds for the nonprofit he formed to prevent child sexual exploitation on the internet.
Ashton didn’t win the marathon, finishing in 3:54:01, but his efforts were rewarded with more than $1 million in donations from friends and supporters.
It was the That 70s Show star’s first effort at such a feat, and he acknowledged on the Today show on Friday, November 4, that getting in shape was difficult.
He shed 12 pounds while exercising and said, “I may have begun a little too soon.” I believe I began around six months ago.
‘It’s brutal on the body. Like, I got injured halfway through, and now I feel like I recovered from the injury, but I’ve had a lot of help,’ he noted.
Chafing on the Ranch star’s chest exacerbated the discomfort from the injury.
‘My nipples were falling off. I’ll be honest about it,’ he confessed.
The amateur athlete also found spending hours on the treadmill and on outdoor walks tedious.
To counteract this, he established an interview program on Peloton where he chatted with pals like Natalie Portman, Kim Kardashian, and Kenny Chesney while working in his basement.
Ashton was one of many well-known faces in the audience. Chelsea Clinton, 42, had a personal best time of 4:20:34.
It was the second marathon for the former first daughter. She raced for City Harvest, which collects food waste from restaurants, bakeries, and cafés and distributes it to needy people.
After the race, the Gutsy anchor was welcomed by her ecstatic mother and Gutsy co-host, former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton.
