Audiences shocked by SNL cast’s response when Morgan Wallen unexpectedly exits stage during credits

Morgan Wallen has captured significant attention online following his recent performance on Saturday Night Live.

On Saturday (March 29), Wallen made his much-anticipated return to SNL, five years after his controversial initial appearance in 2020.

He was originally scheduled to debut in October 2020, but was disinvited after being seen kissing multiple college students, violating COVID-19 protocols in place at the time.

Wallen was later invited back to perform two months afterwards.

He returned to the SNL stage this past weekend, alongside Oscar-winning actress Mikey Madison as the host.

At the conclusion of the show, it’s customary for the cast, host, and musical guest to linger during the credits, engaging with each other. However, Wallen opted for a quick exit.

As Madison expressed gratitude to the audience, Wallen hugged her, bid farewell, and exited the stage, neglecting to acknowledge the rest of the SNL cast — behavior that certainly caught attention.

Witness the moment here:

Devon Walker, one of the cast members, appeared visibly taken aback by Wallen’s abrupt departure.

Meanwhile, Kenan Thompson hugged Ego Nwodim and gestured towards Wallen, prompting her to watch him leave.

Other cast members seemed to be whispering among themselves, with an observant Reddit user suggesting that SNL veteran Mikey Day remarked, “That was weird.”

Commenting on the murmuring, someone else noted, “I bet those whisper jokes were FIRE.”

Observing Walker’s noticeable response, another viewer remarked, “Devon Walker looked p*ssed off at Wallen as well, watch it again on replay.”

Adding to the oddity, Wallen later posted a cryptic message on Instagram.

Accompanying a photo of an airport runway, the ‘Cowgirls’ singer wrote, ‘get me to God’s country,’ seemingly alluding to his Tennessee roots.

LADbible Group has reached out to Wallen’s representatives for comments.

Typically, it’s the SNL skits, rather than the guests, that stir controversy. For instance, last month, a comedy sketch featuring Tom Hanks as a Trump supporter caused a stir.

In the skit, Hanks donned a MAGA hat, fake goatee, denim shirt, and a t-shirt featuring an eagle and American flag.

One individual criticized the actor’s appearance as a ‘slob’ and felt the segment implied that Trump’s supporters are ‘dumb, racist, rednecks’.
