Selma Blair is facing federal and state charges after an alleged violent outburst aboard a Delta flight.
The “Cruel Intentions” actress, 54, was on Flight 938 from Los Angeles to John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday night when the incident unfolded, according to Port Authority police. Authorities said Blair struck one flight attendant, bit a second crew member, and attempted to open the cabin door while the plane was in midair.

After being restrained, Blair was removed from the aircraft and transported to Jamaica Hospital. During that transfer, police said she repeatedly kicked an officer in the head and attacked a nurse.
Audio captured the actress’s distress as she was taken off the plane. “No! No!” she yelled while an alarm sounded.
“Please stop! No, no! Please don’t! Let me go!” she screamed.
A representative for Blair attributed the episode to a medical crisis. The actress, who has publicly discussed her multiple sclerosis diagnosis, suffered a “medical episode,” the rep said.
Blair now faces federal charges for the alleged assaults on the flight crew and state charges for the attacks on the police officer and nurse.
The actress has previously spoken about behavioral incidents related to her health struggles. She has acknowledged biting celebrities in the past and experienced a similar midair episode in 2016.

Blair’s film credits include “Hellboy,” “Legally Blonde,” and her breakout role in 1999’s “Cruel Intentions.” She revealed her multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2018 and has documented her experience with the disease in subsequent years.
Authorities have not announced a court date for the actress.
