New information has surfaced regarding the tragic accident that led to the death of Caitlyn Jenner’s manager, Sophia Hutchins, after she fell down a ravine.
On Wednesday, July 2, Hutchins tragically fell down a 350-foot ravine in Los Angeles following a collision with another vehicle while on a quad. TMZ was the first to report on the entrepreneur’s untimely death.
Reports from police and family members indicate that Hutchins was operating an ATV near Caitlyn Jenner’s Malibu residence when the incident took place.
Sadly, Hutchins was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the wake of this heart-wrenching news, authorities have disclosed additional details about the accident.
Sergeant Eduardo Saucedo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated that preliminary signs suggest Hutchins may have collided with a car while traveling at a high speed.
“It looks like she may have been speeding and rear-ended the other car, the other party, and then that caused her to veer to the right and go off the cliff,” he informed the DailyMail.com.
“It doesn’t seem like she was following them. I think she just she came up on them and then hit the car.
“So it looked like she tried to maneuver to go around it, but she was going too fast and just ended up clipping the rear end of that Mazda, causing her to veer off and go off the cliff there.”
Reports indicate that the two women in the other vehicle were unharmed.
The Daily Mail notes that Jenner has described experiencing ‘tough times’ following Hutchins’ passing, spending the July 4th holiday in mourning.
Hutchins, a graduate of Pepperdine University, was the founder and CEO of the health and technology firm LUMASOL.
Previously, she served as the CEO of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation.
The foundation, established in 2017, is dedicated to promoting LGBTQ+ equality and fighting discrimination by providing grants to organizations that empower and enhance the lives of transgender individuals.
Jenner had once referred to Hutchins as her ‘best friend’.
Hutchins also spoke about their bond on The Hidden Truth with Jim Breslo podcast: “We have so much in common; we see the world so similarly and we both are such a good match for each other because we challenge each other.
“She challenges me in so many ways, has allowed me to grow in so many ways and I hope I challenge her to grow and I think because we share so many of the same passions and views, it’s just a great match, a great partnership.”
