Police have provided further details regarding former Nickelodeon child actor Tylor Chase, who recently gained attention due to a viral video depicting his current lifestyle.
Fans of the beloved Nickelodeon series, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, were taken aback when a video circulated on social media purportedly showing Tylor Chase. Chase, known for his role as Martin Qwerly from 2004 to 2007, was seen in a disheveled state, suggesting he might be experiencing homelessness.
The video spurred widespread concern about his well-being, prompting many to urge that he receives assistance and support.
Devon Werkheiser, Chase’s former co-star, has expressed his agreement with the calls for help, acknowledging the distressing nature of seeing Chase in such a condition. In a conversation with TMZ, Werkheiser mentioned his willingness to assist, but also highlighted the complexity of the situation due to uncertainties surrounding Chase’s mental and physical health.

Werkheiser remarked, “Tylor was a sensitive, sweet, and kind kid. It is heartbreaking to see him this way.
“I haven’t seen Tylor in almost 20 years since the show ended.”
Addressing the notion of providing Chase with money as a quick fix, Werkheiser pointed out that Chase does have family nearby who consistently check in on him and offer support. He criticized the public for sharing videos of Chase for attention, yet expressed hope that the recent exposure might lead to positive change.
He added, “It’s an everyday uphill battle to course correct. It requires a ton of support and patience and time.
“My only hope is that from this exposure, someone with real understanding and resources can step in, get Tylor into treatment, and help him get back on track. We all want a happy ending.”
According to Riverside California Police, officers encounter Chase at least once a week.
Authorities have repeatedly offered him mental health services, substance abuse treatment, and temporary housing, but Chase has thus far declined these offers.

Shaun Weiss, an actor with a similar story, has offered Chase a place at the San Clemente recovery facility he is associated with.
Weiss, recognized for his role as Greg Goldberg in the Mighty Ducks trilogy, went viral after images showed him looking frail. He eventually underwent a court-mandated drug rehabilitation program and has publicly shared his journey to recovery.
