A psychic who passed away almost three decades ago made some unsettling predictions for the year 2025, one of which seems to have already occurred.
The blind Bulgarian prophetess, Baba Vanga, originally named Vangelia Pandeva Gushterova and born in 1911, made several foreboding forecasts about the future before her death at age 84 in 1996. She identified 2025 as a particularly difficult year for mankind.
Baba Vanga had an uncanny ability to ‘foresee’ future events, with some of her predictions appearing to have materialized in recent times.
These include the events of 9/11, the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, the death of Princess Diana, Barack Obama’s presidency, and even predicting her own death date, among other significant global occurrences.
One specific prediction concerning natural disasters has seemingly come true this year.
Baba reportedly predicted a sequence of destructive earthquakes and natural calamities throughout 2025, including an earthquake along the US West Coast that would lead to a significant loss of life, mass displacement, and the destruction of homes and infrastructure.
It is significant to acknowledge that this year, California experienced one of its most destructive wildfire seasons, as 14 fires ravaged Los Angeles for around 24 days in January, claiming the lives of at least 29 individuals.
According to the United States Geological Survey, there have already been 37 ‘significant earthquakes’ this year, characterized by their magnitude, PAGER alert levels, and the number of responses.
Among the most devastating was the Myanmar earthquake, which registered a magnitude of 7.7 and struck on March 28, affecting Thailand as well.
This disaster led to the collapse of roads, bridges, and buildings, killing over 2,700 people, with local authorities anticipating an increase in the death toll in the coming days.
According to the BBC, at least 20 fatalities have been confirmed in Bangkok, with 70 individuals believed to be trapped in the ruins of a high-rise in the city.
Myanmar’s military has declared a week of national mourning, and the UN is actively seeking funds to aid the region during this humanitarian crisis.
Per the USGS, Myanmar has endured several significant slip earthquakes in past years, with six others measuring 7 or greater since 1990.
This disaster follows the January earthquake in Tibet, which measured 7.1 and led to 126 deaths and 188 injuries, as reported by CNN. Tremors were felt across the Himalayas and in Nepal, Bhutan, and parts of northern India.
Other incidents prompted tsunami warnings but caused no major events, such as a 7.6 earthquake in the Caribbean Sea near the Cayman Islands on February 8, and a 7.0-magnitude quake in the South Pacific Ocean on March 31, which posed a ‘tsunami threat’ for Tonga, according to AP.
In the US, Nevada experienced four earthquakes over the weekend, though none exceeded a magnitude of 4.0.
Regarding other forecasts for 2025, Baba Vanga predicted that Europe would become embroiled in war, Russia would ‘dominate the world,’ humans would harness telepathy, and aliens would contact Earth at a major sporting event.
On a more positive note, she predicted that a Formula 1 racer would make history with Ferrari, which might be of some comfort to Lewis Hamilton this year.
