Mom Arrested After 1-Month-Old Daughter Found In Dryer

A 25-year-old woman from Arkansas has been arrested after authorities found her baby inside a dryer.

Tyra Neal was charged with second-degree murder and abuse of a corpse after deputies searched her family’s mobile home on Ritch Road Near the Jackson County line Tuesday at around 2:30 PM.

According to reports, the father found the one-month-old baby named Casleigh first and notified the police. Both parents were arrested but the charges against the father were dropped later on. It is unclear what the motive of the mother was.

Ashtyn Hayse, who lives nearby, said, “I’m shocked, like, how could you do that to a baby? That’s sad. What could somebody possibly be thinking that they’re, like, oh let me harm my own child. That’s unimaginable.”

The authorities have not released the cause of the baby’s death, but her body was being sent to the State Crime Lab in Little Rock for an autopsy.

Baby Casleigh’s aunts said that Neal has four remaining children who lives with her and her partner in the mobile home.

During her court appearance last Thursday, the Poinsett County Sheriff’s department confirmed that the mother was given a $1 million cash-only bond.
