Barack and Michelle Obama have recently addressed speculation regarding the stability of their marriage.
The couple, who has been married for over three decades, have two daughters, Malia, 27, and Sasha, 24.
Barack Obama, renowned for his two-term presidency from 2009 to 2017, held one of the most demanding roles in the world. Such a position would undoubtedly test any relationship, but the Obamas have consistently shown resilience.
Although it’s been years since Barack’s presidency ended, rumors about their marital issues have only surfaced recently.
Michelle Obama has responded to these rumors on various occasions. Now, both she and Barack have collectively addressed these speculations.
Barack appeared on an episode of Michelle’s IMO podcast, which she co-hosts with her brother, Michael. During the episode, Michelle mentioned that “folks think we’re divorced.”
She continued, emphasizing: “There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting my man. And we’ve had some really hard times. So we had a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures, and I have become a better person because of the man I’m married to.”
Barack expressed his emotions in response, saying: “Okay, don’t don’t make me cry right at the beginning of the show that’s so don’t let me start tearing up now.”
Michelle reminisced about the early days of their marriage and Barack’s involvement as a father from the start, particularly after Malia was born.
She explained: “He was an engaged father from the minute they were born. He wasn’t the kind a man that was like, ‘I don’t do this, I don’t change diapers, hand them to me when they talk.”
Continuing, she said: “When Malia was a baby, we shared 50-50,” adding that this shared responsibility fostered a lasting bond between Barack and their daughters.
Earlier this year, Michelle appeared on the Diary of a CEO podcast and spoke candidly about her marriage.
“If I was having problems with my husband everyone would know about it,” she stated firmly.
Michelle acknowledged the challenges that come with marriage but expressed that she wouldn’t trade it, affirming that Barack is “her person.”
