Barron Trump appears to show less enthusiasm for politics compared to his father.
Barron, the youngest of Donald Trump’s children, is the son of the recently elected President of the United States. His mother, Melania Trump, has been married to Donald Trump for 19 years.
Unlike his older siblings – Ivanka, Donald Jr., Tiffany, and Eric – who have been active during Trump’s political endeavors and featured prominently in his 2016, 2020, and 2024 campaigns, Barron seems to maintain a lower profile.
Ivanka held a significant role as a senior advisor during Trump’s initial administration. Donald Jr. was described by a Trump aide in 2021 as ‘the go-to person for political things,’ according to Sky News.
Having just reached the age of 18, which is the legal voting age in the US, Barron has not taken on major responsibilities within his father’s political sphere and reportedly shows little interest in doing so.
Barron is currently a student at New York University’s Stern School of Business, where discussions about his father are common.
When questioned by peers regarding his political stance, Barron reportedly stated he does not identify with any political party, as noted by Mail Online.
Nonetheless, he voted for the first time last week, with his mother sharing a photograph of him at a polling station.
“Voted for the first time – for his dad,” Melania tweeted alongside the image.
Although Barron has not been heavily involved in political activities, he has offered his father advice on podcast appearances ahead of the upcoming election.
“Barron has been very involved in recommending a number of the podcasts that we should do,” stated Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller on the Playbook Deep Dive podcast, according to The Times of India.
“I got to tell you, hats off to the young man. Every single recommendation he’s had has turned out to be absolute ratings gold that’s broken the internet,” Miller remarked.
“When you look at the impact of podcasts or YouTube shows – non-traditional media, part of the thing is you’re meeting voters where they’re at.”
Compared to Trump’s initial presidency, it’s anticipated that Barron will assume a more prominent role this time.
Body language expert Judi James suggests that the young Trump is ‘positioned up front in the spotlight in the hierarchically visual role Ivanka took last election’.
Trump’s inauguration is scheduled for January 20, 2025.
