Brian Wilson, the iconic singer from The Beach Boys, has passed away at the age of 82. His family confirmed the news with a heartfelt statement on his official website, saying, “We are at a loss for words right now.”
The family statement reads: “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away. We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world. Love & Mercy.”
In the 1960s, Wilson co-founded The Beach Boys with his brothers Dennis and Carl, cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine.
The band quickly gained immense popularity in the United States as well as a global fanbase.
Among their numerous hits, the 1966 album “Pet Sounds” stands out and is considered by many fans as one of the greatest albums of all time. Wilson almost single-handedly wrote and produced the album, highlighting his crucial role in the band’s success.
Born in 1942 in Inglewood, southern California, Wilson developed a passion for music early in life, setting him on a clear career path.
