A deadly stabbing in a Beverly Hills alleyway left one man dead and another hospitalized late Sunday night, police confirmed.
Officers were called to the 400 block of North Palm Drive at approximately 11:39 p.m. After reports of an altercation between two men, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department. The confrontation occurred in an alley behind homes listed at $2 million and above.
Responding officers found one man with a serious stab wound to his neck. Police rendered immediate aid before paramedics transported him to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries despite efforts to save him.
The second man, identified only as a Beverly Hills resident, was also injured during the incident. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation, though the extent of his injuries was not disclosed.
Police have not publicly named either individual involved in the violent encounter. The circumstances that led to the fatal confrontation remained under investigation Monday, with detectives working to determine what sparked the deadly exchange between the two men.
“Our officers responded quickly to this incident and immediately rendered aid to both individuals,” Beverly Hills Police Chief Max Subin said. “Our detectives are conducting a thorough and diligent investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.”
Investigators believe the stabbing was an isolated incident and have said no other parties were involved. The normally quiet, affluent neighborhood, where multimillion-dollar homes line the streets, was shaken by the unusual outbreak of violence.
