Big Bang Theory actor shares embarrassing X-rated slip-up on first day of filming

An actor from The Big Bang Theory shared an X-rated moment she experienced on her first day on set.

The beloved sitcom ran for 12 seasons from 2007 to 2019, featuring stars such as Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, and Simon Helberg.

Melissa Rauch, another prominent cast member from The Big Bang Theory, disclosed an embarrassing moment she had during her initial day on set.

Rauch portrayed Bernadette Rostenkowski, who was introduced as Penny’s co-worker at the Cheesecake Factory.

Bernadette grew into a significant character, eventually marrying Howard and becoming a fan favorite.

Rauch has previously spoken about her first day on set, recounting to Conan O’Brien how she was embarrassed by a particular X-rated incident.

“The first episode of the season, I had a little… incident,” she admitted.

She described being in bed on a hotel room set and feeling cold, prompting her to pull the covers up and rub her hands together for warmth.

Unbeknownst to her, the gesture appeared different to the live studio audience.

“So I’m under the covers, and it’s really cold on set because they keep it cold, and I’m under there and we’re shooting the scene and – out of habit – I’m doing this (rubbing hands together) under the covers,” she explained.

“We shot the whole scene, there’s a studio audience. And after the scene was over, our director and producer came over to me and they were like, ‘We need to see your hands in the next take – it looked like you were having way too much fun with yourself under the covers.’”

Rauch mentioned that even audience members commented on the situation, with a little boy saying, “Did you shoot that scene again with your hands out because it looked weird? Because my dad said it looked real weird.”

Even her mom was taken aback by the incident. Rauch shared that when she sought support from her mother, the response was not what she expected.

“She’s like, ‘I hope people understand that you weren’t really doing that, that’s disgusting!’” Rauch recounted.

“‘People have been fired from that, people have lost their careers for doing that in movie theatres!’”

Fortunately, Rauch was not dismissed and continued to be part of the show until its conclusion.
