Bill Maher’s Text to Kid Rock Following Alternate Halftime Show Performance

Bill Maher recently shared the text message he sent to Kid Rock following Kid Rock’s performance at Turning Point USA’s alternate halftime show earlier this month.

At the Super Bowl, Bad Bunny made headlines as the first solo male Latin artist to take the stage during the official halftime show.

Meanwhile, Turning Point USA, founded by Charlie Kirk, provided an alternative halftime event that streamed on their YouTube channel. This show featured performances by Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, and was described by Erika Kirk as ‘incredible’.

After Kid Rock’s performance, comedian Bill Maher sent him a text message, which he discussed in an interview with Elex Michaelson.

Maher commented on Bad Bunny’s performance, saying, “You know, I liked the song he sang. I said it was a good song. The content of it — not my cup of tea. But you know, I think he writes a great song. I’m a big fan of his music.”

He continued by addressing Kid Rock’s performance, remarking that the show had a significant Christian theme. Maher sent a message to Kid Rock asking, “Wouldn’t it have been a little more Christian to let Mr. Bunny have his moment?”

He mentioned that Kid Rock hadn’t responded to the message, adding, “I just said, ‘Next time we talk, we should talk about whether it would have been a little more Christian to let Mr. Bunny have his moment.’”

Despite some accusations of lip-syncing during his performance, Erika Kirk took to social media to commend Kid Rock and others involved in the Turning Point USA halftime show.

Erika shared a video with clips from Charlie’s life, stating, “The @TPUSA All-American Halftime Show was so incredible. Charlie would’ve absolutely loved it.

“Thank you to the millions that tuned in. I’m so proud of our entire team, staff, and the artists who believed in the vision and mission @KidRock @brantleygilbert @leebrice @GabbyBarrett.”

She concluded with a message about faith, saying, “It’s okay to love Jesus and your country. Ultimately, this is what it’s all about, making Heaven crowded.…I love you Charlie baby, this is all for you.”
