Bill Stevenson, Jill Biden’s Former Spouse, Faces First-Degree Murder Charge

Bill Stevenson, the former husband of Jill Biden, the past First Lady, has been officially accused of murdering his second wife.

Linda Stevenson, who had been married to Bill for over three decades, was discovered deceased in her Delaware home on December 28. Authorities arrived following calls about a supposed ‘domestic dispute.’

Upon arrival, police found Linda unresponsive in the living room. They attempted resuscitation efforts but unfortunately, she was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation was subsequently handed over to the Criminal Investigations Unit to determine the events leading to her untimely death, yet no immediate details regarding the cause or potential suspects were disclosed.

Linda’s family issued an obituary, commemorating her life, though conspicuously omitting reference to her husband.

The obituary mentioned her daughter Christina and granddaughter Ciara.

“Linda was deeply family-oriented and treasured time spent making memories, especially on family vacations with her daughter and granddaughter,” the obituary expressed.

“Within the last five years, she proudly founded BMB Bookkeeping, a business she built with determination, integrity, and heart. She loved her work and truly cared for her clients, many of whom became friends.”

Her relatives also described her as ‘tenacious, kind-hearted, and fiercely loyal,’ acknowledging that ‘her absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew her.’

After a month of investigation with little information disclosed to the public, Bill Stevenson was detained on February 2, facing formal charges of Linda’s murder.

He was charged with first-degree murder and was apprehended from his residence without resistance.

Stevenson is currently held at the Howard Young Correctional Institution, with bail set at $500,000.

With the 2024 abolishment of the death penalty in Delaware, if convicted, he will receive a life imprisonment sentence without any possibility of parole, probation, or sentence reduction.

Bill and Linda were married in 1986, approximately ten years after his first marriage to Dr. Jill Biden ended in a divorce following five years together.

In an August 2020 interview with the Daily Mail, Bill remarked: “I’m not bitter because, if it wasn’t for my divorce, I would never have met my wife Linda, and she’s the greatest thing in my life.”

Previously, Bill accused Jill of engaging in an affair with Joe Biden, who would later become president, claiming that Jill developed a close relationship with Joe in 1972 during his initial Senate campaign. This was the same year Joe Biden’s first wife and their young daughter died in a car accident.

Bill claimed his suspicions about the affair started in 1974; however, the Bidens have consistently denied these allegations, maintaining that they met on a blind date in 1975 when both were single.
