Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley are engaged after more than a year of dating, sources confirmed.
The country singer, 65, proposed to the English actress and model, 61, following a relationship that went public on Easter Sunday 2025. The couple first met on the set of the 2022 holiday film “Christmas in Paradise” and reconnected in February 2025.

A source close to the pair said that Hurley was recently seen wearing a massive diamond while filming “The ‘Burbs,” adding bluntly, “I hardly think this ring is a prop.”
Cyrus himself dropped a heavy hint about their future plans in an Instagram post shared Thursday. The “Hannah Montana” alum posted a cryptic ring emoji while promoting his new single “Party’s in the Back” with Deltona.
“This is the most fertile solid ground I have stood on in a long time,” Cyrus wrote in the post. Hurley’s son, Damian, signaled his approval by liking the post with a celebratory emoji.
Cyrus continued in the same post, tying the timing to his upcoming performance: “I like seeing peoples dreams come true. I’m so excited for the show this weekend teaming up with NASCAR in Phoenix!!! Kinda has a ring 💍 to it.”

The engagement marks a fourth marriage for Cyrus, who has six children including superstar daughter Miley Cyrus. He was married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991 and Tish Cyrus from 1993 to 2023, the same year he wed Australian singer Firerose. That union ended in 2024, with Firerose accusing him of abuse, which he denied.

Hurley’s romantic history includes a long-term relationship with actor Hugh Grant from 1987 to 2000. She had son Damian with late producer Steve Bing, then married Indian businessman Arun Nayar in 2007 before their 2011 divorce. She was later engaged to late Australian cricketer Shane Warne from 2011 until their 2013 split.

Despite raised eyebrows about their pairing, Hurley has been vocal about their unexpected compatibility. Speaking to the “SheerLuxe” podcast earlier this month, she pushed back against the surprise factor.
“There are a lot more similarities than you’d think,” Hurley said. “We have the same hair. Identical hair. Apart from his beard, we’re actually like twins.”
She acknowledged the public perception, noting, “It’s an unlikely pairing in some ways,” but emphasized that they have “quite similar lives” and align in many ways.

Their connection centers on rural life rather than Hollywood glamour. Speaking to the outlet in May, Hurley explained that Cyrus’s farm in Tennessee mirrors her own property in Gloucestershire, England.
“Funnily enough, [Billy’s] farm in Tennessee is very similar to my farm here in Gloucestershire, so in a way it kind of feels normal,” she said.

The “Royals” actress offered a more intimate glimpse to People in June, describing their countryside routine together.
“We obsessively watch birds of prey and light lots of bonfires,” Hurley said. “It’s bliss,” She added that their time includes her using power tools in the garden while Cyrus strums his guitar beneath a tree.

Cyrus echoed the sense of unexpected kinship in his own comments to the magazine.
“There was something in the opposites of us, I think, that maybe not only got other people’s attention but even our own,” he said.
He continued, “And I’ve never seen anybody that, in some ways, has more in common with the insanity that I have lived through in this crazy show business. Then mix in other personal, good things and tragedies — she’s like me.”

Cyrus is scheduled to team up with NASCAR for a show this weekend in Phoenix.
