A self-described biohacker, Bryan Johnson, has invested an astonishing $2 million in his bid to ‘live forever’, and after 90 days of oxygen therapy, the results have been remarkable.
Johnson is engaged in an extensive experimental medical regimen aimed at ‘reversing aging’, and thus far, the outcomes have been highly promising.
His efforts to stay youthful include adhering to a rigorous diet and even utilizing his son’s blood in pursuit of this goal.
Although Johnson is in his late 40s, he previously claimed that his experimental efforts have given him the ‘heart of a 37-year-old’ and the ‘lung capacity of an 18-year-old’.
Most recently, Johnson embarked on a 90-day regimen of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This medical treatment involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber, enabling the body to absorb more oxygen than usual.
This increased oxygen intake can aid in treating various conditions, such as wounds and infections, among others.
Over the course of 90 days, Johnson underwent 60 sessions, each lasting an hour and a half.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Johnson shared that he experienced a 300 percent increase in blood vessel growth and a 1000 percent rise in akkermansia, which is beneficial for gut and metabolic health.
His risk marker for developing Alzheimer’s also decreased by 28 percent after using the oxygen therapy for three months.
The treatment significantly improved Johnson’s skin across his entire body, reducing UV skin damage by approximately 10 percent.
Telomeres, located at chromosome ends, serve as a vital indicator of ‘biological age and health’. During the experiment, Johnson’s telomeres were measured, showing they were comparable to those of a ten-year-old.
Johnson’s unusual methods to maintain youthfulness have drawn criticism online, such as when he shared his and his son’s ‘erection data’.
The data included metrics like sleep efficiency, average erection quality, number of erection episodes, and total duration.
Johnson recorded a higher average erection quality score of 94, while his son Talmage had a score of 90.
While Johnson also demonstrated better sleep efficiency, he had one fewer erection episode compared to his son.
