A burglary suspect displayed some shocking behavior in court when he screamed and hurled his own feces at a judge.
Typically, one would assume that being in the presence of law enforcement and particularly justices, who have yet to determine your fate, would encourage the best conduct.
Nonetheless, one individual took an extreme approach in expressing his displeasure.
Dorleans Philidor appeared in a Miami court in 2019 to confront burglary charges, where he attempted to take matters into his own hands.
While seated in a wheelchair near Dade Circuit Judge Lisa Walsh, reports indicate that the 33-year-old defecated and attempted to launch his waste at the judge just before closing arguments, according to the Miami Herald.
Compounding the situation, the accused allegedly exclaimed: “It’s protein! It’s good for you!”
Fortunately, Judge Walsh managed to evade the flying feces after a bailiff alerted her to take cover.
Attorneys in the courtroom quickly moved aside, while law enforcement and court officials rapidly entered the scene.
It is also reported that Philidor ingested some of his own waste.
An observer, Allen Rios, shared with the outlet: “It was intense. The corrections officers and police officers were swarming. Like 60 of them.
“They told everyone to leave and you couldn’t go back in. It was a hazardous area.”
Despite the chaotic interruption, the trial was only briefly paused, as the judge decided to move the remainder of the hearing to a different room. Meanwhile, the contaminated courtroom 2-10 was closed for sanitation.
Authorities stated that Philidor allegedly entered a North Miami Beach residence while the homeowner was present.
However, after an hour of deliberation, the jury found him not guilty of the burglary.
Nevertheless, according to the outlet, he wouldn’t be released easily, as he still faced another trial related to a grand theft auto case and had a series of other convictions.
This disruptive incident was not the first time he had postponed the trial.
The previous day, during a lunch break, Philidor reportedly defecated in a holding cell near the courtroom.
He then allegedly spread it over the cell and himself, according to officials at the time.
After being escorted from the area through a public corridor, half of the second floor required closure for cleaning and disinfection.
A medical professional was also consulted to assess the suspect over concerns he might be feigning a mental disorder.
“MDCR staff and Correctional Health Services (CHS) Staff will continue to monitor this inmate and will provide extra security precautions to avoid the events from reoccurring,” stated Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation spokesman Juan Diasgranados at the time.
