35-year-old Blake Lively has just announced she is expecting her fourth child by flaunting her growing belly on the red carpet of Forbes’ Power of Women Summit.
She has not yet disclosed the baby’s gender or due date.
James, 7, Inez, 5, and Betty, 3, are the three daughters Lively and Ryan Reynolds have together.
Taylor Swift, a close friend of the pair, utilized the names James and Inez as characters in her 2020 Folklore single “Betty,” which revealed the name of their youngest kid. When James was 3 years old, the singer also featured her voice on the opening of “Gorgeous” on her 2017 album Reputation.
Swift revealing their fourth child’s name in a song years after they’re born wouldn’t be unexpected given how secretive Lively and Reynolds are after birthing a new baby.
Reynolds recently took a “sabbatical” from acting to concentrate on his family, as he said on LinkedIn in December 2021, demonstrating how dedicated the parents are to their children.
“The biggest thing for me … is that I don’t want to miss this time with my kids,” he explained, adding that he wants them to live “like a normal human” with routines. “For many years, when my wife Blake would shoot a film, I would not shoot a film, and I would be with the kids and vice versa,” he said.
“We never really worked at the same time, but always we were away, so the kids were away, too. Now that they’re in school, they have a somewhat normal schedule. I think it’s totally important for their development and I really enjoy being a present dad. I love taking them to school in the morning. I love picking them up.”
Lively joked in January 2020 that she had “3,000” kids, acknowledging that changing to having three kids was more difficult than anticipated.
We once had three children under the age of four, she said. “Imagine moving from two to three thousand. I mean, we have a ton of kids. That is a lot. Some claim that increasing from two to three is the same. You know, it’s very simple. They don’t have three children. It is insane.
The Lively and Reynolds family will only grow wilder with the addition of a fourth child.
