Blake Lively releases sharp response following Justin Baldoni’s involvement of Taylor Swift in massive lawsuit

Taylor Swift has become embroiled in the intense $400 million legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

This development follows recent observations by fans that Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, unfollowed Ryan Reynolds on social media. Speculation suggests this action might be linked to the legal exchanges between Lively and her co-star Baldoni from “It Ends With Us.”

Although there has been no confirmation of a rift between Swift and Lively, they have long been considered close friends. The two first became acquainted in 2015, and the 35-year-old singer is the godmother to all three of the 37-year-old actress’s daughters.

In response to the news that Baldoni’s legal team has subpoenaed Swift in the case, Lively’s spokesperson issued a statement.

The statement, provided to Page Six, accused Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios co-founder Steve Sarowitz of transforming “a case of sexual harassment and retaliation into entertainment for the tabloids.”

The spokesperson also praised Swift for being “a woman who has given a voice to millions the world over.”

Lively’s representative remarked: “The defendants continue to publicly intimidate, bully, shame and attack women’s rights and reputations.”

“Including in the past month seeking to strike down for all a powerful California victims’ rights law, calling it ‘unconstitutional.”

The statement further criticized, “The disturbing actions by a billionaire, men who made their careers as ‘female allies’ and their team continue to show their true colors.”

UNILAD has reached out to representatives for Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios for their comments.

A representative for Taylor Swift also commented, arguing that the singer’s name was being used “to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”

They added: “[Swift] never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history.”

In December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni for sexual harassment and allegedly engaging in a ‘smear campaign’ against her.

In January, she pursued another legal action for harassment and retaliation, claiming Baldoni displayed inappropriate behavior on set, including during a scene where their characters share a slow dance.

Baldoni has denied all allegations and his company has countersued, seeking $400 million in damages, and released the on-set footage in question.

Lively’s lawyer, Michael Gottlieb, has accused Baldoni’s side of making “inflammatory extrajudicial comments” about the case. Meanwhile, Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, claims Lively’s team is attempting to enforce a “gag order” to prevent him from speaking to the media.

The trial is scheduled to begin in March 2026.
