A violent brawl between two women turned a Beverly Hills steakhouse into an impromptu fight club as diners watched in shock and amusement.
The melee erupted at Steak 48, a pricey restaurant in Beverly Hills, California, where the two unidentified women traded punches, kicks and hair-pulls while rolling across the dining room floor. TMZ obtained video of the incident showing the fight breaking out as forks clinked and calming music played in the background.
“Oh my god, I love this,” one woman could be heard saying in the video as the brawlers went at it.
Both women wore fancy dresses without undergarments as they attacked each other, according to the footage. Confused employees tried to stop them while entertained diners watched the chaos unfold.
They rolled across the dining room floor, trading punches, kicks and trash talk like amateur fighters. At one point, a woman who appeared to be an employee tried to break up the fight and was heard telling one of the women, bleeding from her head, to “go out now.”
One woman slapped away an employee’s hand as she tried to usher them out, drawing a chorus of “oooohs” from diners, before shoving her and appearing ready to square up again.
“I wasn’t expecting this when I came here,” another amused diner professed in the video.
It’s unclear what sparked the fight, when exactly it happened or whether the unidentified women were arrested or banned from the restaurant. No police involvement has been confirmed.
Steak 48 describes itself as a “fine dining steakhouse where handcrafted cuisine, exceptional service, and an elevated atmosphere come together to create an unforgettable dining experience.” The restaurant doesn’t normally serve up live entertainment, but it does have a $295 bone-in wagyu tomahawk and $82 filet mignon on its menu. Guests could also sip its $22 “beverly rita” between swings.
In the viral moment that preceded the widespread circulation of the footage, two women dressed to the nines stood “10 toes down and throwing hands in a crowded dining room,” as TMZ described it. The women acted like it was a pay-per-view fight, punching, kicking and clawing at each other while rolling around on the floor, all while the restaurant’s usual upscale ambiance carried on around them.
The California Post reached out to Steak 48 for comment but had not received a response.
Steak 48 in Beverly Hills is located at 9689 Little Santa Monica Boulevard and is part of a small chain with locations in Chicago, Houston and Philadelphia. The restaurant’s dress code encourages guests to “get dressed up for a great experience” and prohibits athletic wear, excessively revealing clothing and exposed undergarments.
