Blue Ivy Carter, 14, took the stage alongside her father Jay-Z, 55, during the opening night of his 30th anniversary concert at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California last Friday.
The teen sat at the piano and accompanied the rapper through two of his signature hits, “The Story of O.J.” and “Dead Presidents,” before walking over to embrace him as the crowd roared.

“Please put your hands together and make a heavenly noise for the multi-talented, the most incredible, Blue Ivy Carter,” Jay-Z told the audience.

The father-daughter performance drew an especially notable audience. Beyoncé, 43, watched from a suite with former Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland, 44, and Michelle Williams, 46, marking a reunion of the trio that first rose to fame in 1997.
The three core members disbanded in 2005 but have maintained their friendship over the decades. They were spotted dancing and cheering as Blue Ivy performed with her dad.

This was not the first time the teen has appeared on a major stage. During Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour, Blue Ivy performed alongside her mother, and her younger sister Rumi, 9, made her own onstage debut during the opening SoFi Stadium show when Beyoncé sang “Protector.”

Rowland and Williams had also joined Beyoncé onstage for her final Los Angeles “Cowboy Carter” show in July 2025.

The performance comes months after Jay-Z defended Blue Ivy against criticism about nepotism. In a March interview with GQ, the Grammy winner pushed back against the idea that his eldest child has “everything… Just given to her.”
“That was amazing,” he said, describing how Blue “fought” to improve her dancing after “a lot of conversation around her first performance.”

Jay-Z added that he was especially “proud” she “fought for something that she really wanted to do.”

The record exec noted that his and Beyoncé’s eldest child had inherited their music skills, and he argued that she “fought” to be part of “almost every number” on her mother’s tour.

Blue Ivy first surprised fans during the “Cowboy Carter” tour by dancing to “America Has a Problem” at Beyoncé’s opening SoFi Stadium show.
The 30th anniversary concert series continues with additional dates scheduled.
