Body language specialist analyzes Chappell Roan’s daring Grammys red carpet appearance

Chappell Roan stirred up quite the buzz at the Grammys tonight due to her daring fashion choice.

Roan has been nominated for Record of the Year thanks to her track ‘The Subway’ and is also in the running for Best Pop Solo Performance with the same song.

Last year, she took home the Best New Artist award, surpassing other emerging talents like Benson Boone, Teddy Swims, and Shaboozey. However, this year, the prestigious award was claimed by the UK’s rising star, Olivia Dean.

This evening, however, it wasn’t Roan’s musical achievements that captured attention but rather her bold wardrobe selection.

On the Grammys red carpet, Roan revealed what is presumed to be a Thierry Mugler creation, where the upper part of the dress was linked directly to her nipples.

While many might feel a bit exposed in such an outfit, body language specialist Darren Stanton commented on the 27-year-old’s extraordinary confidence.

Speaking to the press on behalf of Covers, Stanton noted, “Off the scale confidence from Chappell Roan. She puts her hands behind her back, which shows a clear confidence, and someone who feels comfortable in their body and not afraid to be photographed.

“Being pictured and in the limelight appears to act as a confidence boost to her. She’s outgoing and very brash, I’ve not seen levels like this in a very long time on a red carpet. She flashes a ‘chin thrust’ gesture, which is a clear sign of strength.”

This red carpet appearance marks a stark contrast from some of Roan’s earlier moments, where she was known for fiery exchanges with photographers.

During a past event, a photographer told the singer to ‘shut the f**k up’ to which she retorted with ‘no, you shut the f**k up’.

Roan followed with: “No. Not me, b*tch.”

Reflecting on the incident, Roan described the red carpet as ‘overwhelming’.

“I think for someone who gets a lot of anxiety around people yelling at you, the carpet is horrifying. And I yelled back,” she explained to Entertainment Tonight.

“You don’t get to yell at me like that,” added the ‘HOT TO GO!’ artist.

She later addressed the same photographer at another celebrity gathering, demanding an apology.

“You yelled at me at the Grammys party,” the singer was seen saying at the LA premiere of Netflix’s Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour, adding: “I deserve an apology for that.”

It’s not confirmed whether or not the photographer issued an apology.
