The “Starships” singer, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, has openly supported Trump during his second term. Despite previously referring to herself as an illegal immigrant, having been born in Trinidad and Tobago before moving to the US as a child, Minaj continues to stand by the former president.
There has been some controversy surrounding her support, including a petition aiming to have her deported. However, Minaj has made it clear that she intends to remain in the US and seems to be developing a relationship with Trump.
She attended the Trump Accounts Summit and was unexpectedly invited on stage by the president. Body language expert Darren Stanton commented on her reaction, suggesting that she was caught off guard by the invitation.
Trump invited Minaj to join him on stage during his speech. After a brief interaction, where he appeared to kiss her head, he handed her the opportunity to speak to the audience.
Darren Stanton analyzed her behavior, stating, “Although Nicki is in full support of Trump, it did feel like she was a bit on the spot.” He noted that while she is usually very extroverted, she appeared overwhelmed and hesitant during this unexpected moment.
“She seemed reluctant to join Trump on stage, evident in her heavy breathing and the pauses she made when speaking,” Stanton observed. He further pointed out that there was a slight awkwardness when she chose to shake Trump’s hand instead of accepting his offer for a hug.
Stanton continued, “Her walk to the stage showed uneasiness, and her posture indicated some hesitancy. It seemed like she needed some coaxing to join Trump on stage, not due to any fear of association, but perhaps because of the unexpected nature of the invitation.”
During her speech, Minaj expressed her admiration for Trump, calling herself his “number one fan” and suggesting that the backlash she faces only strengthens her support for him.
