Bodycam Video Captures Dad’s Confession in Daughter’s Shooting After ‘Trump Argument’

Bodycam footage from police officers on the day Lucy Harrison died shows her father describing his account of the incident after he accidentally shot his daughter.

In January 2025, Lucy Harrison, hailing from Cheshire, UK, visited her father at his residence in Prosper, Texas, with her boyfriend, Sam Littler.

On the day they were set to return to England, a heated argument erupted between her and her father over Donald Trump.

Lucy and her father, Kris Harrison, often had differing political opinions, leading to frequent disagreements on various topics.

An inquest recently revealed that their discussion shifted to gun laws in America when Kris retrieved his firearm to show Lucy.

He claims the gun accidentally discharged, resulting in the tragic death of his 23-year-old daughter.

Police responded to the shooting, and the bodycam footage has now been released to the public.

Kris recounted to one of the officers: “We were getting ready to go to the airport and we were talking about guns. She said ‘Have you got a gun?’ and I said yes, I got it out and it just went off.”

“She stood there as I pulled it out; it went off,” he continued. Kris further explained that he kept the gun in a locked box within his bedside cabinet.

Following Lucy’s death, a police investigation considered the possibility of homicide, but no charges were filed against Kris. A grand jury in Collin County chose not to indict him due to insufficient evidence.

However, a recent inquest in the UK concluded that Lucy’s death was due to unlawful killing, specifically attributed to gross negligence manslaughter, as reported by BBC News.

The coroner stated: “To shoot her through the chest whilst she was standing would have required him to have been pointing the gun at his daughter, without checking for bullets, and pulling the trigger.”

“I find these actions to be reckless,” the coroner added.

Kris was absent from the inquest, but a lawyer representing him noted that he ‘fully accepted’ the outcomes of his actions.

“There isn’t a day I don’t feel the weight of that loss, a weight I will carry for the rest of my life,” his statement expressed.

The coroner also noted Kris had a history of alcohol abuse. Although he was believed to be sober leading up to Lucy’s death, Kris admitted to relapsing and consuming 500ml of wine on the day of the incident.
