Boost Your Odds for LA Olympics 2028 Tickets as Lottery Registration Begins

With registration for the LA28 Olympic Games opening today (Wednesday, January 14), here’s a guide to increase your chances of getting tickets.

Although the event is still two and a half years away, attending an Olympic sport event is within reach for many.

The upcoming Olympics will take place from July 14 to July 30, 2028, and will include both new and returning sports such as flag football, lacrosse, cricket, baseball, and softball.

Los Angeles will host the Olympics for the third time, with events scheduled at well-known venues like the LA Memorial Coliseum and SoFi Stadium.

While some events will occur in southern California, canoeing and softball will take place in Oklahoma.

There will be approximately 14 million tickets available for over 800 events, including the iconic opening and closing ceremonies, when tickets are released in April.

To participate, fans need to register for the LA28 lottery ballot.

Registration starts at 7am PT, and fans have until March 18 to enter the Olympics ticket ballot.

To register, create a profile on the designated website.

After registering, you’ll be entered into a draw for a chance to purchase tickets during a randomly assigned time slot.

Successful registrants will be notified of their time slot up to 48 hours in advance.

Ticket prices begin at $28, and early registrants do not receive any advantage, as stated by the LA28 website.

However, residents in certain areas of California and Oklahoma have the opportunity to participate in an early locals sale. Details on that are coming up…

Residents of Los Angeles and Oklahoma City can enjoy an early window for ticket purchases if they register by March 18.

The locals-only sale period is from April 2 to 6 and applies to residents near venues hosting events like softball and canoe slalom.

Eligibility requires that your credit card billing address matches a zip code in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, or Ventura counties in California, or Canadian or Cleveland counties in Oklahoma.

The first general ticket sale period is from April 9 to April 19.

If you’re someone who frequently uses ‘do not disturb’ mode, it might be time to adjust that setting.

Ensure your notifications are active—set them to loud if necessary—so you don’t miss the email with your LA28 time slot details.

Once you receive it, set a reminder or alarm to avoid forgetting the date and time.

It may seem straightforward, but it’s easy to overlook!

Lotteries are all about numbers, so the larger your group, the better your chances of securing tickets.

If you’re responsible for getting tickets for your family or friends, don’t hesitate to delegate.

Encourage others in your group to sign up so when the LA28 sale begins, you can purchase tickets for one another.

…and who you know can also be helpful!

If you have friends or family who qualify for the early locals’ sale, make use of that connection.

Those with addresses in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, or Ventura counties in California or Canadian or Cleveland counties in Oklahoma can take advantage of the locals’ sale.
