Brad Pitt confesses his ‘diabolical’ actions on set led to production halt

Brad Pitt has achieved a great deal over his extensive career in Hollywood. The acclaimed actor has picked up Oscars, experienced two highly publicized separations, and played leading roles in major films over the past three decades. Yet, he’s recently come forward about a particularly chaotic on-set moment that stands out in his memory, despite it not being a scripted scene.

During an appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce, the 61-year-old actor recounted an incident so disruptive that it halted production and cleared the set.

Pitt recalled that the event occurred while filming a scene in a crowded café with about 60 people present.

“I was stuck in this chair,” he explained. “Nature took its course.”

So, what exactly went down?

As it turns out, Pitt was fully immersed in his role—perhaps too much so. The scene required his character to devour a hefty serving of beans and bacon, presumably after going without food for days.

In true method acting style, Pitt didn’t pretend; he genuinely consumed the entire meal, repeatedly, with each take.

“I just powered down this plate of beans,” he recounted. “Take two, do the same thing. Take three, I do the same thing. Take four, I do the same thing. Something hit me.”

The consequence? Absolute chaos.

“There was nothing I could do,” Pitt elaborated. “I was stuck in this chair, nature took its course. And then, suddenly, the entire crew, the most diabolical something-something descended on the crew in the whole room, and they fled the café. Fled.”

Although Pitt didn’t specify the film, fans suspect it might be Johnny Suede, a 1991 indie movie where he does indeed eat baked beans on screen.

Pitt now claims he has learned from the experience: “Ever since then, I pace myself.”

The Fight Club actor also shared reflections on his early career, including an encounter that left him starstruck when he met his Thelma & Louise co-stars, Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon.

“When I first met Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, I was. Yeah,” he confessed. “I got over it quickly, though.”

The 1991 film, featuring Pitt as a charming hitchhiker who swindles Thelma’s money after a night together, marked a breakthrough role for him—one that is still remembered fondly today.

Additionally, during the podcast, Pitt expressed his unwavering support for the Kansas City Chiefs, prompting an apology from Travis Kelce, who is also in a relationship with Taylor Swift, concerning their recent Super Bowl defeat.

“We got you this year. I let you down,” the tight end remarked.

Pitt responded, noting that such losses are ‘what makes sports movies so special’, and added: “That’s what I mean about life. Life throws struggles your way. Sometimes everything goes quiet, it’s perfection, it’s sublime.

“Other periods, life throws these struggles at you and it’s how you deal with those and how you come back from those.”
