Brady Bunch child star reveals onscreen siblings ‘connected romantically at various times’

While The Brady Bunch remains a beloved family TV show, recent revelations from one of its actors offer a new perspective on the series.

It’s almost hard to believe, but it’s been 55 years since The Brady Bunch first premiered in 1969.

The show revolved around a large blended family, but Barry Williams, who portrayed Greg Brady, shared that the cast’s off-screen relationships were quite different from their on-screen sibling dynamics.

Williams disclosed to US Weekly that the cast members engaged in romantic relationships with each other, saying: “We all hooked up with each other at some point.”

He elaborated further on the cast’s relationships: “I dated Maureen [McCormick], and Chris [Knight] dated Eve [Plum] and Michael [Lookinland] and Susan [Olsen] had a little mock wedding at one point.

“So, yes, we all hooked up.”

In her own interview with US Weekly, McCormick did not delve into the specifics but highlighted the enduring friendships from the show: “The show will just always hold a super warm spot in my heart.”

She added: “It’s just an amazing bond, so I feel very lucky to have that.”

However, McCormick did mention a romance with Williams in her 2008 memoir, Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My Voice.

Reflecting on a Hawaii trip during the filming of the first episode of season four, she wrote: “As soon as I stepped off the plane, I started to think about him more intensely in the way I had fantasized for a long time.

“We had spent the past three and a half years staving off the desire of a mutual attraction despite the intimacy of working closely with each other every day.”

Fans have reacted to these revelations on Reddit, with many expressing little surprise about the off-screen romances among the actors.

One user commented: “No new revelation here. Barry and Maureen dated for a while, and Eve and Chris probably had more of a fling-type deal. The two youngest kids Mike Lookinland and Susan Olsen practice-kissed in Tiger’s dog house around the start of the show.

“There’s a lot of doubt as to whether Barry and Florence had a real kiss after their one dinner together. From what I remember, Florence was adamant that she kissed his cheek only.”
