Brave Woman Calls 911 to ‘Order Pizza’ in Heroic Life-Saving Move

Ordering a pizza is a routine task, but for one particular woman, pretending to do so during a 911 call turned into a life-saving act.

On October 19, around 4am ET, the 911 Communications Center at The Volusia Sheriff’s Office received a call from a woman who cleverly masked her plea for help as a pizza order.

The call, later shared on social media by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, began with the woman’s request for a pizza.

“I would like to order a pizza,” she started, adding, “I’m so stuck in here.”

The dispatcher, recognizing the unusual order, asked: “Okay. Are you aware you’re calling 911?” The woman confirmed: “Yes, I’m sure I’m calling to that number.”

Though she was unsure of her location, technology came to the rescue as the communications center and deputies used her phone’s location services to pinpoint her whereabouts.

They found her in a field in the rural area of Pierson, Florida.

She also informed them she was with an unarmed man, slightly easing the police’s task.

Describing the scene, Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood stated: “Deputies got out on foot, and began to search those ferneries. Eventually, they heard loud music coming from a field. When they approached the sound, they discovered a male on top of a screaming female.”

As help arrived, the victim shouted: “He’s trying to rape me. Can you help me?”

Officers quickly apprehended the suspect, while the woman expressed her gratitude by repeatedly thanking the Lord amidst tears.

“Thank you, Jesus”, she exclaimed as the man was detained.

The suspect was identified as Luis Diego Hernandez-Moncay, a 27-year-old from Mexico.

Just a day before the alleged incident, he had applied for asylum. The sheriff’s office informed Fox News Digital that his presence in the US was illegal.

“He’s now sitting in jail, charged with attempted sexual battery, battery by strangulation, and false imprisonment, with an immigration detainer from the U.S. Border Patrol,” Chitwood tweeted regarding the suspect.

“During this outing, he did a line of cocaine, and she said he did a 180, and he became extremely violent and wouldn’t let her go and tried to rape her,” added the sheriff.

The gripping 911 call has captured widespread attention, becoming viral across social media platforms.

In a video clip, Chitwood commented: “When you watch the video … if you’re a father, if you’re a grandfather, if you’re a brother, and you hear those screams coming from our victim, it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.”
