Britney Spears has broken her silence after going quiet on social media in the weeks following her early-March arrest for driving while intoxicated, posting a video with her son and a short note to fans.
The Toxic star temporarily deactivated her Instagram after the March 5 arrest. She later returned to the platform, switched her account to private, and removed the dancing clips that had recently sparked concern among some followers.
On Friday, March 27, the Princess of Pop addressed her audience of 42 million for the first time in around three weeks, offering a brief update while also sharing an unusual video featuring one of her sons.
“Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing !!! [rose emojis] Stay kind !!!” Spears wrote, also posting a video of her taking selfies in the mirror with her son, 19-year-old Jayden.

In the clip, the 44-year-old appears in a white mesh crop top and shorts, with her hair worn down. Jayden, her youngest son with ex Kevin Federline, stands beside her in a tan trenchcoat, noticeably taller than his mom.
Some of the footage seems to be shot as Jayden tries to record the moment, with Spears heard saying, ‘I’m composure, I’m being very composed’ as she struggles to hold still for the camera.
She also dances with her son, at one point appearing to grind on him before deciding ‘no, that’s stupid’, while Jayden laughs along. The post is also being described as marking three weeks of sobriety since her arrest.
According to reports, the arrest occurred after highway police saw Spears’ 2026 black BMW convertible swerving and braking unpredictably. Officers reportedly followed her for about an hour before stopping her at roughly 9.28pm.

During what has been characterized as an emotional period for Spears, she allegedly wasn’t booked for a DWI until 3am and didn’t leave until around 6am, with her vehicle towed to a nearby impound lot.
Multiple outlets including TMZ have reported that Spears dismissed her personal sobriety coaches and security prior to her DWI arrest.
Since the stop by the California Highway Patrol earlier this month, Spears has reportedly begun attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, according to the Daily Mail.
An insider shared: “Britney has been very open and honest in her AA meetings, she has said she loves pouring her heart out as she knows that is the best way to heal and feel better.”
They continued: “The only thing she has indulged in is fancy coffee drinks. She is being super careful because she wants to be there for her kids.”
Spears is scheduled to appear in court on May 4 in connection with the driving-while-intoxicated arrest. Her Instagram account has reportedly been set to private again within the past 24 hours following her post.
