Britney Spears’ former partner alleges she would stand ‘silently’ in sons’ rooms at night ‘holding a knife’

The father of Britney Spears’ two children has made a startling claim regarding the pop star, alleging that she would stand ‘silently’ in their rooms at night, watching them sleep ‘with a knife in her hand’.

In Kevin Federline’s forthcoming memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” he accuses the 43-year-old of occasionally entering their sons’ bedroom at night while holding a knife and simply watching them.

Federline, who was married to Spears from 2004 to 2007, shares two sons with the pop singer—Sean Preston, now 20, and 19-year-old Jayden James.

“They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep – ‘Oh, you’re awake?’ – with a knife in her hand,” he writes, according to an excerpt seen by The New York Times.

“Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation.”

The memoir presents a concerning picture of the singer’s mental health, with Federline expressing significant worry for her current state.

“It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s okay. From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour,” he writes.

“Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.”

The mother of two has been in the news recently for a series of unpredictable Instagram posts, often showing her dancing in her underwear and sometimes appearing to send mysterious messages.

Federline also criticizes the #FreeBritney movement in his book, suggesting that even though the fans had good intentions, the results may have been more harmful than beneficial.

Spears was under a conservatorship led by her father for 13 years, which placed him in control of her personal and financial matters.

Following a fan-driven campaign that highlighted her situation, the conservatorship was terminated in 2021.

“Now, more than ever, [our children] need your support. I’ve been their buffer for years, but now it’s bigger than me,” Federline added. “It’s time to sound the alarm.”

The ‘Toxic’ singer’s team has since reacted to Federline’s allegations.

“With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin,” Spears’ representatives stated to PEOPLE.

“All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir [The Woman in Me].”

In 2006, Federline was granted full custody of their children, and the ‘…Baby One More Time’ singer paid him child support until their youngest turned 18 last year.

Federline’s revealing memoir is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 21.
