A woman who manages one of Europe’s largest legal brothels has addressed some of the frequently asked questions about the sex work industry.
Catherine De Noire, 31, is pursuing a doctorate in psychology. Her entry into the sex industry was inspired by an article about a legitimate brothel that employs women as independent contractors.
Currently, she manages the brothel full-time but dislikes being labeled a pimp. Due to the legal standing of the business, she can simply contact the local police if any clients become problematic.
She shared insights with LADBible’s Honesty Box about common requests, protocols for celebrity clients, the most a client has spent in one night, and the most unusual request, which is quite eccentric.
Catherine has experienced a wide range of scenarios at the brothel, from intoxicated clients making grandiose promises to two men booking a threesome but ending up in a twosome, leaving the female worker with nothing to do.
Such incidents become routine when managing a brothel daily, with each client arriving with unique demands.
One memorable client, who came in with substantial financial resources and no specific preferences, became the brothel’s top spender, splurging €20,000 ($24,000) on a single sex worker. He remarked: “I have this money you know, let’s just enjoy it.”
For that night’s work, the sex worker was understandably pleased, even though top earners at the brothel can make nearly $60,000 monthly, making that night’s earnings about ten days’ worth of work.
Even though the big spender had rather conventional tastes, De Noire was quick to recall one of the brothel’s most unusual requests.
“The dog fantasy,” she said, describing a regular client who role-plays as a dog, complete with a costume. This ‘completely normal guy’ with a wife engages in this act without any sexual activities, instead being bossed around like a pet by the workers.
The manager explained: “Sometimes there’s a customer and she’s f***ing him and he’s just there staring, like a dog. Sometimes he licks the customer, sometimes he chews on the shoes of the customer… Then after the eight hours is done, he just packs up everything and goes home to his wife.”
For Catherine, clients like the man-dog are a highlight of her job. She expressed her enthusiasm: “That’s why I like to work there, people can get so creative and play around, it’s amazing!”
