Bunnie Xo Reveals What She’s Getting in Jelly Roll Divorce Settlement After Split

Bunnie Xo has said she warned estranged husband Jelly Roll that he would need to support her financially as part of their divorce agreement.

Fans were stunned this week after news emerged that Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo, born Jason and Alisa DeFord, are bringing their marriage to an end after nearly a decade together.

Court records show the country star filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tennessee, on May 18, listing May 9 as the couple’s separation date and citing irreconcilable differences.

Although both had largely remained quiet publicly, Bunnie has now opened up about the split during an episode of the Dumb Blonde Podcast.

Among the biggest revelations, she explained that the two still intend to have a child together through surrogacy, even though they are no longer staying married.

The 46-year-old also said a heated argument on Mother’s Day became a turning point and helped push them toward the decision to separate.

She also addressed money matters, saying she told Jelly Roll he would be expected to make sure she was looked after in the settlement.

“I joke around with him, like, ‘Well, you didn’t take care of me in the marriage, but you’re taking care of me in the divorce.'”

“We stan a f**king king,” Bunnie added. Laughing, she went on: “I’m allowed to say that because it’s true!”

While Bunnie’s comments made clear she expects to be financially protected, neither she nor Jelly Roll has publicly confirmed the exact terms of any divorce settlement.

Jelly Roll, 41, has seen his career soar in recent years, and reports have estimated his fortune in the multi-million-dollar range, though the exact figure has not been publicly verified.

Bunnie made clear there is still affection and friendship between them despite ending the marriage.

“That’s my f**king best friend, dude. I love him, and, you guys are going to be shocked to hear this, but we’re still having a baby.”

“[…] Everything has been so cool, calm, and collected. I like I literally spoke to J for two hours before I did this podcast.”

She also suggested that, while their romantic relationship has run its course, the bond they built still matters deeply to both of them. In her view, they had fulfilled what they were meant to do for one another.

“Nobody cheated on the other person,” she also insisted.

While she denied infidelity played any part in this breakup, Jelly Roll has previously spoken openly about being unfaithful earlier in their relationship, including an affair that lasted about a year. He later described that period as one of the lowest points in his life.

Speaking on the Human School podcast last year, the “Need a Favor” singer said he and Bunnie had done “a lot of work to repair” the damage and eventually came back “stronger than [they] could have ever been”.
