California Hard Rock Hotel Transforms Into Haunted Manor With 60,000 Square Feet of Halloween Terror

Hard Rock Hotel San Diego is turning into a 60,000-square-foot haunted house for one night only this Halloween.

The Gaslamp Quarter property, located in downtown San Diego, will host “Haunted Manor” on October 31, running from 9 p.m. To 2 a.m. The event is strictly for adults 21 and older, and guests will not be permitted re-entry once they leave.

“With over 15 DJs spanning 3 eerie floors, 4 massive dance floors, and 7 chilling rooms, it’s the ultimate haunt for beats & treats this Halloween,” Hard Rock said in its announcement of the event.

The sprawling party will occupy three floors of the hotel, with each level offering distinct themed environments. Among the five named experiences are “The Graveyard,” “The Haunted Ballroom,” and “The Forbidden Library,” the last of which will feature a Halloween-themed lounge complete with music, cocktails, and what organizers describe as a dark, mysterious atmosphere.

Another section will center on the hotel’s pool, serving as a main party floor with views of the downtown skyline. A more enigmatic area called “The Secret Door” promises guests a hidden experience for those curious enough to step through and discover what lies beyond.

General admission tickets start at $91.05 including fees. Organizers are also offering expedited entry through a fast pass option, and VIP packages are available at multiple tiers, with top-tier prices reaching up to $3,000.

The Hard Rock event is one of several Halloween happenings drawing crowds to San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter this season. The San Diego Zombie Crawl, a massive Halloween bar hop, runs across four dates with October 31 as its finale. One ticket grants guests entry to nearly 25 different bars and clubs in the neighborhood, with costumed partygoers filling the streets.

The Zombie Crawl’s multi-date structure offers flexibility, but Hard Rock’s single-night Haunted Manor presents a self-contained alternative concentrated entirely within one venue. Both events cater to the 21-and-up crowd, reflecting the adult-oriented nature of Gaslamp Quarter’s Halloween programming.
