The former member of Fifth Harmony discussed how her first relationship at the age of 20 was eye-opening, sharing insights from her past sexual encounters.
During her appearance on The Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast, Cabello reflected on her relationship from seven years ago.
She revealed that at age 20, she dated Matthew Hussey, a relationship coach, writer, and internet personality.
Describing losing her virginity to Hussey as ‘beautiful,’ she offered more details during the podcast.
“I had my first relationship at that time. I had actually listened to [Matthew’s] podcast before … because he had, like, a dating podcast. And he is married now, so congratulations,” she said. “It was late for my first relationship. I was 20.
“That was my first time having sex. First lovemaking was at 20, 21. … It was literally lovemaking. It was beautiful.”
Although their relationship lasted just over a year from 2018 to 2019, Cabello gained valuable insights from Hussey. She expressed admiration for his relationship accomplishments, noting his current marriage.
Cabello continued: “He was a really great person. It was like the perfect first relationship. It really expanded my world because he wasn’t in my industry too.
“It was like, ‘Oh my God, have you ever seen Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and have you ever seen Studio Ghibli films?’”
Hussey has spoken highly of Cabello in the past and in a 2018 interview, described her as ‘an incredible human being’.
