Candace Owens Criticizes Turning Point USA Following Leak of ‘Erika Kirk Audio’ After Husband’s Passing

Commentator Candace Owens has intensified her controversial inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Charlie Kirk’s assassination by launching a fierce critique of his widow, Erika Kirk.

Since Kirk’s death, Owens has spent the past four months promoting a range of conspiracy theories regarding his death. She has suggested that various parties, including the state of Israel and members of his organization, Turning Point USA, might be implicated in the incident.

The 36-year-old has recently leaked what she claims to be audio from a few weeks after Kirk’s tragic death at a Utah Valley University TPUSA event. In this recording, Erika Kirk, the widow, is allegedly heard laughing and discussing merchandise sales.

“It is the general tone that is off-putting, it is the laughter that is off-putting, we are not even two weeks after watching your husband be assassinated,” Owens commented after releasing the purported audio from a TPUSA work call.

This latest development indicates that Owens remains steadfast in her various theories about Kirk’s death. This persistence comes despite a lengthy meeting with Erika Kirk in December, where Erika aimed to reconcile their differences.

Erika described the meeting as ‘a very productive conversation,’ as reported by CNN. During the meeting, she presented a lawyer and phone records intended to counter some of the allegations made by Owens, who was a close friend of her late husband.

Nevertheless, Owens continues to promote theories involving individuals other than the alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson, 22, in Kirk’s death. She suggests that Kirk was ‘betrayed’ by those around him, which has fueled her criticism of TPUSA, where Erika assumed the role of CEO after her husband’s murder.

On Tuesday night, Owens redirected her attention to Erika’s behavior in the weeks following her husband’s death, describing it as ‘makes my skin crawl,’ based on multiple alleged calls with TPUSA staff working long hours after the tragedy.

In the leaked audio, allegedly featuring Erika, she discusses handling ‘50,000 hat orders’ and 300,000 new donors, calling it a ‘blessing’ and expressing, “It’s weird to say that I’m excited, I really hesitate to say that, it’s really hard to say that… but it comes from a place of peace knowing that God’s using this and we are humbly witnessing the gospel in real time.”

“I just thought she would be more upset,” Owens remarked after releasing the alleged audio of Erika’s call with TPUSA employees.

Owens further criticized Erika and TPUSA on X, stating: “I’m still stuck on the fact that Turning Point raised a quarter billion over a few months and felt zero shame attacking YouTubers for making ‘thousands of dollars’ discussing the flaws of the investigation.

“The shamelessness of that PR strategy is absolutely wild to reflect on.”

Turning Point USA has been contacted for a comment on the matter.
