Cardi B addresses allegations against boyfriend Stefon Diggs involving assault and strangulation

Cardi B has addressed the serious accusations against her boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, who faces legal trouble just two months after the birth of their child.

The New England Patriots player became a father for the third time and welcomed his first child with Cardi B on November 4. However, in early December, he was charged with felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery.

The charges, filed in Dedham District Court, Massachusetts, on December 29, stem from an incident reported to have occurred on December 2.

As Diggs, 32, prepares for his court appearance on January 23, Cardi B, 33, has spoken out for the first time to defend him in a post on X, which has since been deleted.

“Not once has that woman said anything to me about being touched.. NOT ONCE!!” the popular rapper stated.

“Mind you, we was talking every single day until she left that house and she JUST wrote me this.. but I’m gonna let the courts handle s*** and when it gets handled I want all yall talkin s*** on your f***in knees with apologies just as loud the way yall been harassing over a lie… and I put that on my two month old son in the name of the lord!! That’s how confident I am.”

The post included a screenshot of a text message.

“I’m sooo sorry, I can’t talk to you, I didn’t say that especially in the way it was written, please contact my mediator and she will answer anything you need to know. But only in person and confidently,” the leaked text read, providing Cardi B with further contact information.

This text isn’t the only one made public, as the police report contains several alarming messages purportedly sent by Diggs to his accuser, who is said to be a private chef he employed.

Diggs has strongly refuted the allegations, issuing a statement via his lawyer David Meier to E! News last Tuesday.

Meier declared: “Stefon Diggs categorically denies these allegations. They are unsubstantiated, uncorroborated, and were never investigated – because they did not occur.

“The timing and motivation for making the allegations is crystal clear: they are the direct result of an employee-employer financial dispute that was not resolved to the employee’s satisfaction. Stefon looks forward to establishing the truth in a court of law.”

The New England Patriots have also shown their support for Diggs, who played in their decisive win against the Miami Dolphins.

“The New England Patriots are aware of the accusations that have been made regarding Stefon Diggs. Stefon has informed the organization that he categorically denies the allegations. We support Stefon,” the team said in a statement.
