Catherine Zeta-Jones makes ‘unfortunate’ confession about marriage to Michael Douglas

Catherine Zeta-Jones has shared an ‘unfortunate’ revelation about her marriage to Michael Douglas.

The two actors first crossed paths in 1998 at the Deauville Film Festival and quickly formed a connection.

The couple, Zeta-Jones, then 56, and Douglas, 81, became engaged in 1999 and were married in November 2000.

They have two children together, son Dylan, 25, and daughter Carys, 22. Interestingly, they also share the same birthday, September 25.

Although they briefly separated in August 2013, they reunited the following year, and their bond appears strong today.

In a recent interview with Hello! magazine, Zeta-Jones revealed her family’s competitive nature, which she admits can sometimes be a challenge.

When asked by the publication if her household is competitive, the star of The Mask of Zorro said, “Yes I do. We all unfortunately… We all [do]. But it’s a healthy one.”

Throughout the years, the couple has addressed their relationship in numerous interviews, including their 2013 split and subsequent reconciliation.

“It can’t be a one-way street,” Douglas remarked on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2015. “But I’m crazy about her. And yeah, I think every couple has their difficult times. The only problem is, as you well know, we’re all in the public eye, and it tends to get a little more exposed than most. We’re back stronger than ever.”

Recently, Zeta-Jones and Douglas celebrated their shared birthday, with Douglas posting a heartfelt photo on Instagram.

In his caption, the Wall Street actor wrote: “To my birthday sister—what a joy celebrating another year with you! Congratulations on your spectacular game at the Celebrity Ryder Cup. Happy Birthday to the love of my life @catherinezetajones.”

While many fans offered birthday wishes, some found the “birthday sister” label odd.

A follower commented: “Did you just call your wife sister or am I tripping?”

Another remarked: “That’s his wife, not his sister, what does he mean birthday sister.”

Despite the unusual phrasing, Zeta-Jones expressed her gratitude to Douglas in the comments without hinting at any nicknames she might use for him.

She replied: “Happy birthday darling. I can’t think of anyone else to share a birthday with.”

Zeta-Jones also posted a message for Douglas’s birthday, saying, “Happy birthday Michael! Sharing this special day with you is once in a lifetime!”
